HomeFront
Ewing, New Jersey
Born from the shell of a decommissioned military facility, this 42,000 square foot windowless structure is the new home of the HomeFront Family Campus. 86 windows were cut in through 10” reinforced concrete walls and what was a former fallout shelter has been completely repurposed and transformed into a multi-use shelter and a bright, functional space for displaced families. It now boasts 38 individual guest rooms, serving and teaching kitchens, a childcare center, a library, classrooms and counseling offices. This was a design build effort by PCG and architect Chris Pickell.
